Choosing Your Ideal Side Panels

Finding the perfect side panels amidst countless design possibilities doesn’t have to be daunting. Miami Design Group is here to simplify the process. We’ll meticulously walk you through each decision—considering fabric translucency, texture, color, and pattern—to ensure a flawless integration into your home. Our expertise guarantees a stunning decorative outcome and the precise ambiance you envision.

Elegant Side Panels for a Polished Look

Side panels, as the name suggests, are decorative pieces displayed at the sides of your window or surrounding a current display. Standard or decorative stationary rods should be one-third the width of the window glass, installed between two inches above the window frame and two inches below the ceiling molding. Hanging them closer to the higher end of this range will make your ceiling appear taller.

Side panels are for decorative purposes only and are not meant to open or close. Typically, they are hung on either side of a window or between multiple windows on a wall. Drapes, in contrast, are customizable fabric sheets designed to cover the entire window, offering adjustable options for opening and closing (such as sliding). Types of drapes include pinch pleat, crown pleat, inverted pleat, and rod pocket styles. Side panels are typically stationary, with widths of 20 or 40 inches, adding elegance to any space.

Selecting Full Curtains for Complete Window Coverage

Complete curtain systems offer remarkable versatility and represent the optimal selection when uncertainty surrounds your design preferences. When your fenestration requires comprehensive closure capabilities, Miami Design Group recommends implementing a full curtain window treatment solution.

The Decorative Appeal of Side Panels

Side panels, also known as stationary panels, are designed to remain in place. We love installing them for homeowners who want to frame their windows to add depth and style. You have many options when it comes to customizing your side panels. Their fabrics are generally thin and sheer to let light through without obstruction. Side panels are primarily used for style, not function.

Full Curtains and Side Panels for Versatile Window Treatments

Full curtains can fully close across your windows, but they also have the option to stay open, with pleats gathered neatly at the sides. In contrast, side panels remain stationary, stacked neatly on either side of the window, adding a refined touch without obstructing the view.
