Window Coverings in Fountainebleau, FL

Most custom window covering projects take 2-3 weeks from final measurements to installation. This includes manufacturing time for your specific window dimensions and material selections. Rush orders are possible for an additional fee, but we recommend allowing the full timeframe for best results. Motorized treatments may add a few extra days for programming and integration testing, especially if you're connecting to existing smart home systems.

Commercial window coverings are built for higher durability and frequent use. They use heavier-duty hardware, fire-rated materials where required, and often include centralized control systems for multiple units. Residential treatments focus more on aesthetic options and individual room control. Commercial projects also require different installation approaches due to building codes and accessibility requirements. We handle both types of projects with appropriate materials and installation methods for each application.

Yes, we work with most major smart home platforms including Control4, Lutron, and others. The key is planning the integration during the initial consultation so we select compatible motors and controllers. Existing systems usually require a bridge or hub to communicate with new window treatments, which we include in the project scope. We program everything to work with your current setup and provide training on the new functions.

Properly programmed motorized shades can reduce energy costs by automatically adjusting throughout the day to block heat gain and retain conditioned air. In Florida's climate, this typically means 10-15% reduction in cooling costs during summer months. The key is having shades that actually close when the sun hits your windows and open when natural light reduces HVAC load. Manual shades only work if you remember to adjust them, which most people don't do consistently enough to see real savings.

Outdoor window coverings in Florida need to handle humidity, UV exposure, and occasional severe weather. We typically recommend solution-dyed acrylic fabrics or PVC materials that won't fade or develop mold. Motorized retractable systems work well because they can automatically retract during high winds. Fixed installations need proper drainage and ventilation to prevent moisture buildup. The key is selecting materials rated for marine environments, which handle Florida's coastal humidity better than standard outdoor fabrics.

Custom manufacturing means we can handle virtually any window configuration including arched, angled, or oversized openings. We use precise laser measuring tools to ensure perfect fits, especially for unusual shapes where standard measuring tapes aren't accurate enough. Specialty hardware is available for most challenging installations, though complex shapes may require longer manufacturing times. We always visit the site before finalizing any unusual window treatment to confirm measurements and installation approach.
